The Emperor's New Groove - Perfect World

The Emperor's New Groove - Perfect World

This song, Perfect World, is the groovy opening song to one of my favourite Disney movies.
The Emperor's New Groove is hilarious, action-packed and chock full of catchy music.

Basically, Kuzco, the most self-absorbed, groovy, ridiculous and lovable Emperor ever, tells us the story of how he was ruined for no reason at all. (I just love Kuzco's voice, by the way..)
Long story short, his evil advisor, Yzma, aided by her dumb but adorable henchman Kronk, plots to kill Kuzco and take over the the kingdom. This plan backfires when Kronk (ah, Kronk... (fond smile)) mixes up the potions and accidentally turns him into a llama instead. Stuck in the mountains with no idea what happened to him, Kuzco has to find his way back to the palace with the reluctant help of Pacha, a kindly peasant man who wants to change Kuzco's mind. In fact, Kuzco, self-absorbed and absolutely indifferent to others' suffering as he is, wants to build his summer home on the site of Pacha's home, destroying the village in the process, which means that Pacha has to help Kuzco back to the palace in order to save his family.

Sung by Tom Jones (the theme song guy), this opening song introduces our groove-loving Emperor, portraying his egoistical lifestyle perfectly.
